System Requirements

Hardware and software required to run Project Ares:

Internet Connection

  • Minimum 5 Mbps downlink
  • Recommended: 25 Mbps or higher

Operating System

  • Current supported version of Windows, macOS, or Linux
  • System must be capable of running a current supported browser

Web Browser

  • Latest version of a Chromium-based browser, including Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  • Browser must support HTTPS, secure WebSockets, and WebGL

System Hardware

  • Minimum: 4 GB RAM
  • Minimum: 4 cores processor
  • Recommended: 8 GB RAM or higher
  • Keyboard and mouse/trackpad required

Network / Communication Requirements

  • Please allow outbound access over TCP 443 using HTTPS and secure WebSockets (wss) to the following domains:
    • projectares.app
    • guacamole.projectares.app
    • api.projectares.app
    • *.projectares.app

Possible Failure Reasons

  • Firewall rules blocking outbound HTTPS or secure WebSocket traffic
  • Proxy or content-filter rules blocking WebSocket connections
  • VPN or network security policies blocking access to external Project Ares domains
  • Browser extensions or endpoint security tools interfering with remote session traffic
  • Outdated browser versions that do not support required protocols

Notes

For standard Project Ares Gen3 customer guidance, the allowlist should be domain-based. Legacy Circadence URLs from Gen2, fixed IP allowlists, and gRPC-specific requirements should not be used unless Circadence provides customer-specific guidance.
